Exploratory painting is still great for originating new ideas. It encourages the independent and experimental investigations necessary for vibrancy in one's work.

I work within various painting scenarios, and often create frameworks to guide and fuel the painting process. These are conceptual structures which may or may not determine a painting's final state. They provide a tangible support which can be flexible and temporal if necessary. I set up situations where my pre-meditated ideas can trigger a more intuitive navigation.

I'm using a guise of order to traverse the unknown.
